Nikolaus Rauch transforms urban structures into multi-layered pictorial spaces in which traces, reflections, and layers of color become visual archives. Regeneration in Green 2024, acrylic on Hahnemühle. His works follow a “trace archaeology”: he finds, marks, and transforms the overlooked—facades, walls, glass fronts, signs, textures. What appears to be random becomes a cipher for a living city whose beauty lies in the fragment, the crack, and the shadow. “Hidden Treasures—Urban Views” is an invitation to see the everyday anew. By superimposing photography, color, and traces, Rauch opens up spaces of resonance between documentation and imagination—between surface and depth, time and perception.
